Announcing my next book: a horror novella!

Kind of an underwhelming announcement, don't you think? "A horror novella" - that's my next book. It's almost like simply announcing, "I'm writing another book." Anyway, as of today, I won't be telling you the title or the synopsis of the book. Why? Well, there are several reasons, so let me explain.

The Dreadful Feeback (Part 2)

A few months ago, I wrote a little blog post titled The Dreadful Feedback. I had recently received my first review, which was merely decent, and felt like blogging. I didn't address the reviewer directly or complain about it. In fact, I think I handled it very well. However, that was for a decent review. How will I handle a terrible review? Let's find out!

Happy Holidays!

Today... today doesn't feel like a day to advertise. It feels like a day to enjoy life with friends and family. It feels like a day to watch Christmas movies and television specials, sing Christmas songs and drink eggnog, unwrap presents and listen to your sister cry about getting a gift she didn't want for Christmas. It's Winter, yet... it feels like a warm day -- a day that warms my heart.

So, I won't shove any of my books down your throat today. But, the day after you unwrap that new Kindle, I'll be there. Yeah, I'll be there to inform you about all of my books. I might even have a little gift for your Kindle.

Happy Holidays!
Jon Athan

(I've actually never had eggnog, to be honest.)

The complete first draft for Tales From Under The Bed Vol. 2 was completed this past Friday. I've been formatting and editing nonstop to get this book out as soon as possible. The Dreadful Feedback!

Okay, maybe it's not so dreadful. In fact, I know I'll need feedback in order to improve over time. So, I want feedback, especially constructive feedback. That doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to enjoy it, though - good or bad. Feedback - as in, reviews - is one of the main reasons I was afraid to pursue a career in writing. It's a conflicting issue. Like I said, I know I need it, but I don't want it to define me. I don't want it too influence my work too much.

Tales From Under The Bed Vol. 2 in development! And, thank you!

On October 20th, 2014, I released my first book, Tales From Under The Bed Vol. 1. This was a monumental moment in my life. I know it may seem miniscule to many, but I've never been so proud in my life. I'm more proud to announce I'll be continuing this series as intended. In fact, the first draft of Volume 2 has already been completed and the cover art should be prepared soon. (Keep an eye on the My Books section for the first glimpse)

Welcome! Tales From Under The Bed Volume 1 is out today!

Well, here's my first post. My name is Jon Athan and I am a writer. If you'd like to read more about me, you can read the About Me page. I think that covers the introduction. Anyway, I don't usually blog. I write a lot, including books and movie reviews, but I don't have a firm grip on blogging. Should I talk about myself? Should I shamelessly advertise?
