Writing Updates for June 2015!

First and foremost, Restless Nightmares Vol. 3: A Collection of Petrifying Short Stories successfully launched last week. If you haven't read it yet, you can purchase or borrow it by clicking here. For those who have already read it or intend to, thank you for the support. It's invaluable to me. I hope you're enjoying the stories. There's much more to come.

For starters, the next book will be the introduction to a new series. Although it will primarily focus on horror, the new series will also blend elements of fantasy and science-fiction. This series is strongly inspired by The Twilight Zone — one of my personal favorite shows. It will be a short story anthology filled with surreal stories. Although I can't say for certain at this moment, I'm aiming for most of the stories to feature unsettling and memorable twists. I want you to be surprised when you reach the climax — that's the goal.

The first book in this new series is completed. Well, it's currently in the proofreading process, but there won't be any other edits. Therefore, it is practically completed. It will feature five uniquely distinct stories. If you're a fan of The Twilight Zone, you'll probably recognize some of my inspirations — at least for one of the stories. Otherwise, I tried to keep the stories as unique as possible. I want the inspiration to be noticeable, but I also want to differentiate myself. After all, I don't want to rip-off my favorite series, I just want to pay homage. (I don't want to get sued, either.)

Anyway, although the cover and the book are completed, I'm not quite prepared to announce the title of this new series. I'd prefer to keep that secret until closer to launch. What's the launch date? Well, I'm currently aiming for July 2, 2015. Of course, plans can change. Then again, like I said, the book is practically completed. Anyhow, thanks for reading my books and showing interests in the future installments. I'll have more updates soon!

Until our next venture into the surreal,
Jon Athan
